The Preholiday Purge and an Allergy Appointment

Before we binge on new toys for the holiday I have to purge. Our house is not that big and I keep toys to a limited area. I was feeling overrun by everything. This past weekend my husband vacuumed under the couches and recovered everything from the “land of the lost toys”. This morning I woke up driven! Wildman went off to school and I broke the cardinal rule of no TV in the day and put Baby A in front of a Dora episode. I purged and purged and purged. OH MY GOD it felt good. I boxed up what I wanted to put out for FREE on Craigslist, I packed up the nicer stuff for the neighbors next door who just had a baby, and organized everything else (damm we have an overload of matchbox cars). It took less than one Dora episode and I got rid of over 1/3 of the toys. We are primed and ready for Santa. I swear my thoughts are even less cluttered.
Baby A has his six month follow up with the allergist. I am very looking forward to it. Last allergist appointment his numbers in his blood dropped meaning he was still very allergic but not as much as before. Of his allergies I think the milk and eggs are the hardest. I never make beef and rarely ever eat pork so I could care less. The peanut thing I have resigned to knowing he only has 10% of growing out of. I start getting anxious about the appointment for a month before hand. It is a long appointment with lots of face time with the doctor. It is good but it is really one of the last of Baby A’s medical issues. Right now we are dealing with only ear tubes that are still in place and the allergies. The laundry list when he was a year old felt longer than my arm. It feels good for the list to shorten up but I really look forward to a day when specialist appointments are not part of monthly living.
