Spring Sunday’s, that are as warm as summer, are made for the day we had today.
I have to start with a disclaimer. I rarely allow my worlds to collide. It is how I operate. I usually want to let the bar chaos stay downtown and I let my wholesome chaos stay at home. My kids don’t need the bar in their lives but there have been a few exceptions for some co-workers. For once I took a chance, followed my gut, and invited a friend from the bar to my home and I feel I made the right choice.
We have been playing in the driveway all weekend with a neighbor and her kids. Her husband works weekend. I spent time over at her house and so did my husband. The kids were in, they were out, they ran from house to house both days. Tonight my nephew was coming for a BBQ. He lives nearby. It’s awesome to say hey come over for a BBQ. Then I was texting with my friend 89 who I have written about before. I invited him too. Then my husband was down with the neighbor and heck we invited them too.
It was clash of all my worlds and everyone had an amazing time. It’s strange. I have a friend who happens to be a 22 year old dude. I think he is great. We can talk, but it’s a strange friendship for one to have at 45 years old and I can’t explain it. I love my neighbor she is a great person too, Her husband works all weekend and I think she likes the adult company. Heck we love it. Add my nephew neighbor who is around often and my husband who needs to be around people he doesn’t work with. Then stir it up with four boys from age 5 to 8 and you have the makings of an awesome party.
I have spent the last few weekends on the driveway with my neighbor, with kids in and out of the house, my nephew coming around, then this weekend with 89 around.
Sometimes you don’t have to leave home to have some of the most unexpected fun ever.
