This morning at 9am I was meeting one of my oldest friends in a Target parking lot. She is the owner of the Satellite Cafe in West Philly. I love that she owns a cafe because she has worked in coffee since the 80′s and regularly dreamed of owning an cafe. She is one of the sponsors of Listen to Your Mother Philly. It’s not often you can call on someone who you shared a tattoo with over 20 years ago who will still come through when you need them. She is also the person who got me the job at the bar. As we chatted in the parking lot a mini van pulled up. Who gets out of the mini van is someone we both worked with back in the day of the early 90′s. He had two of his three kids with him. It was a regular party people reunion in the parking lot of the Target. Didn’t we used to go to bed at that time in the past?
I think back and I remember getting on the “internet” for the first time while visiting my friend who owns the cafe in Iowa City. I was instantly mesmerized. Hmmmmm foreshadowing.
I then drove to Cecily’s house for a meeting with her and Dresden, for Listen to Your Mother Philly. Someone has to hire the three of us as a team because we can get more done together in two hours than some people get done in a week. I have found it inspiring and intimidating to work with these amazingly talented busy women. Cecily and her husband Charlie and I have also known each other from so long ago. Dresden I am only getting to know but is a person who feels like you have known her forever. We did a rough read through of all the pieces of our show. WOW. There were tears, giggles, and wow’s. Each piece is so amazing alone but as a group I feel this will be a very powerful event. Tomorrow is our rehearsal. I can’t wait.

Gotta love it when random stuff comes to fruition. Like it’s not random at all. This is why I believe in kismet…
