I was up getting dressed to go to the rehearsal for Listen To Your Mother Philly.  My husband was with the boys in the dining room.  He was supposed to be doing homework with Ryan.   Instead he was with the boys talking to them.  He asked them questions about school, their friends, their activities.  Although he works so much he was taking the time to listen to them and learn about their little lives.  He was showing them that although he is rarely home before they go to bed he wants to be present in their lives.

Off I went to the Listen to Your Mother rehearsal.  It was an amazing experience.  I then had lunch in a fancy restaurant. Completely decadent.

I called my husband on my way home.  I asked about the day.  He replied with a smile in his voice,  it was a day.  Parts of it were hard.  Some of it was fun.  I got to spend it all with the kids.

I think they all needed that.
