I am a fancy pants lately. On Saturday I went to fancy Mexican food for lunch with the Listen To Your Mother Philly cast sans kids. On Saturday night I escaped again this time with my husband for my dear friend Cecily’s birthday dinner. We ate Vietnamese food, and as it is customary on Cecily’s birthday I engaged in some of the most lively conversation of the year. I sat and chatted with adults over dinner for hours. It was glorious.
Tonight I get to do something I have never done before. My friend 89 recently got a job at a new restaurant. The place is not opened yet, and they are having what they call a “soft”opening. A soft opening is happens before a restaurant officially opens, they invite friends and family and they try to out the menu items to see what works and what does not. So, I am officially turning into a fancy pants and I am attending the opening of this restaurant. My nephew neighbor is taking the boys and I am going to wear a black dress and boots and eat fancy food while supporting my friend who needs the support. In supporting him I am getting out alone, downtown at night which is in reality taking care of myself.
T-minus two hours. I am quivering with excitement.
