Pictures and how we see ourselves.

Often how you see yourself is not the reality of what you are.  Usually when I see a picture of myself I hate it.  Yes, I am that woman with those issues, just like most of us.

I have a friend, Fedora Dave from the bar.  I talked to him about blogging about a year or so ago.  Since then he started this blog, this blog, and this you tube channel.   He’s become quite the provider of online content.  He is also one of the most regular readers I have of this blog, which tickles me.  It delights me that I have so many single male readers these days who not only put up with my Mommy Blog story, they participate.  He is one of them.

Last night Dave took the below picture to feature on his blog, Women Wearing My Hats.  Dave is an interesting sort, he is one of my regulars and I consider him a friend .  Women LOVE to wear his extensive hat collection.  Dave loves to take pictures of all types of women, younger, older, of all shapes and sizes.  He finds every women’s beauty through the lens of the camera while they wear his extensive collection of fedoras.  I was honored that David asked me to pose for a picture last night.  Fridays as a bartender downtown are intense.  People who come to a bar are tired of the work week and their bosses.  They are angry, usually drink aggressively, and Friday just has a different tone compared to other nights.

The picture David took of me caught how I want to look behind the bar, mysterious and surrounded by chaos.  He caught it exactly right and I love him for it. He made a special needs Mom feel sexy and mysterious.  That is quite a feat.
