Very early on Saturday morning I was driving home from work.  I was rushing more than usual because the ADHD summit was starting in 4 hours and I needed every precious moment of sleep I could get. When I got to the end of my block my car was making a crazy loud noise.  The car I drive most is the SUV mommobile we bought brand new in 2002.  The thing rarely gives me any trouble and it is only recently the drive train is out of warranty because we had the 10 year/100,000 mile guarantee deal but it was extended to 12 years/120,000 miles after a weird class action suit when we were given three options to choose from.

I barely made it up the steep hill which was is a detour due to new gas pipes being installed under our street. It sounded like something was dragging under the car but when I looked nothing was dragging. I drove 2mph and got the thing in my driveway as the car tried to loose power or brown out.  I parked it and I have been ignoring that there is a problem all weekend.

Tomorrow in between all the numerous kids activities, Ryan’s first OT appointment at CHOP, and Aaron’s 7th Birthday I have to call a tow truck to get the car out of here to find out exactly what is wrong and if it is worth fixing.  I am so glad the weather is going to be nice and my husband can motorcycle to work.  I really really really do not want to have to buy a new car right now.  Really….
