Aaron, my baby, lost his first tooth tonight. Yes, his first tooth. It was long awaited.
My kids tend to loose their teeth late. Ryan was already halfway through first grade before he lost a tooth, and he is one of the oldest in his class due to his birthday. Mind you once the started going they went fast even though the first ones would not come out and his first four teeth were removed by the dentist.
Aaron is seven. He is going into first grade, although due to his birthday he should be going into second but we held him back a year. He has been wiggling that tooth for three long years. Kids in his class have been loosing their teeth since preschool. Aaron has wiggled and wiggled and wiggled and pulled. Eventually it fell out.
He is a kid, and as it is a kids nature, he rushes through everything. They want to grow faster than they already do. Everyday my boys are growing lankier, faster, and bigger. I am starting to be able to imagine how Ryan will look as a teenager. This evening my twenty year old niece was here. Ryan is already taller than her shoulder!
If I could impart anything on them from my forty five years of life is slow down. Enjoy and savor every single moment in their lives because you never get anything back and you only look forward. All those amazing moments in life once they are gone, they are gone. Enjoy every moment boys because your first lost tooth never comes again.
