I am admitting it.  I can’t do homework with my kids at the same time.  It is near impossible.  Ryan needs to concentrate, Aaron the competitive one brings home stacks of books to read for his 100 book challenge. Ryan is distracted by shadows and has questions.  Aaron wants me to help him too.  Both have more homework than I can handle.  Both do everything they can to get the other one distracted.

Aaron is fairly self directed which helps.  Ryan is not.  Not even a little. Ryan has a ton of tests this year and I am finding everything to do with school overwhelming.

I decided in the wise words of my friend, Julia Roberts, to put the oxygen mask on myself. Instead of pulling out my hair and freaking out I made an ad and put it on Craigslist.

I have a first and third grader and I am having trouble managing homework alone with them every afternoon. My third grader is learning disabled and it takes all my focus to help him. My first grader is very smart and self directed but he needs to read aloud. I need someone to listen to him read, answer his questions, and make sure he completes his work in the afternoons. I am looking for help from 3:45pm till 5pm daily when school is in session. Perfect job for a local college or high school student.

I didn’t get any responses but I will keep looking.

I feel like I am hiring a husband.
